Electrical Engineer

Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. The Electrical Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and solve complex engineering challenges while maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Experience & qualifications
Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Experience:

  • 5-8 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale projects.

Certifications:

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred. Relevant certifications in electrical design or safety, such as NEC, IEC, or OSHA compliance, are a plus.

Knowledge & Skills
Electrical Design Expertise:

  • Proficient in electrical system design, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems.

Technical Software Proficiency:

  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software, as well as electrical analysis tools such as ETAP or MATLAB.

Analytical Thinking:

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform complex calculations and simulations to ensure system performance.

Project Management Skills:

  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, with excellent organizational and time-management abilities.

Communication Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non- technical audiences.

Attention to Detail:

  • High attention to detail, particularly in creating technical documentation and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Design and Development:
Electrical Systems Design:

  • Design, develop, and improve electrical systems for a wide range of projects, including residential, commercial, and industrial applications.

Project Documentation:

  • Create detailed electrical designs, schematics, and layouts using CAD software, ensuring all designs meet project specifications and industry standards.

Prototype Development:

  • Build, test, and evaluate prototypes, ensuring that they meet functional requirements and quality standards.

Technical Specifications:

  • Develop and maintain detailed technical specifications for electrical components and systems, ensuring clarity and accuracy for manufacturing and installation.

Project Management:
Project Planning:

  • Assist in planning project timelines, resource allocation, and budgeting, ensuring timely delivery of all electrical engineering tasks.

Coordination with Other Disciplines:

  • Work closely with mechanical, civil, and software engineers to integrate electrical systems into broader projects, ensuring compatibility and functional synergy.

Risk Assessment:

  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to minimize risks associated with electrical systems and installations.

Compliance:

  • Ensure all electrical work complies with local, national, and international standards and regulations, including safety standards and environmental requirements.

Testing and Quality Control:
System Testing:

  • Conduct comprehensive tests on electrical systems and components to verify performance, safety, and reliability.

Troubleshooting:

  • Diagnose and resolve issues in electrical systems by performing in-depth troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure all electrical installations and components meet quality standards and project requirements through rigorous quality control procedures.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Continuously review and improve testing and quality control processes, leveraging new technologies and methodologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Operations and Maintenance:
System Monitoring:

  • Monitor the performance of electrical systems and ensure that they operate within specified parameters, addressing any deviations promptly.

Maintenance Procedures:

  • Develop maintenance schedules and procedures for electrical systems, ensuring that they are regularly serviced and inspected to prevent breakdowns.

Technical Support:

  • Provide technical support to maintenance teams and end- users, helping to troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues.

Upgrades and Retrofitting:

  • Identify opportunities to upgrade or retrofit existing electrical systems to improve performance, efficiency, or safety.

Health and Safety:
Safety Protocols:

  • Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations, ensuring that all electrical work is performed safely and responsibly.

Training and Development:

  • Provide training to colleagues and stakeholders on electrical safety, operational procedures, and best practices.

Incident Reporting:

  • Investigate and report any incidents or accidents involving electrical systems, ensuring that lessons are learned, and preventive measures are put in place.

Collaboration and Communication:
Team Collaboration:

  • Work collaboratively with engineering teams, contractors, and external stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Client Relations:

  • Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates on project progress, technical challenges, and potential solutions.

Technical Documentation:

  • Prepare detailed reports, manuals, and other technical documentation to support the installation, operation, and maintenance of electrical systems.
