Safety Senior Specialist – HSE

Role Purpose

  • To lead and oversee all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs and ensure compliance with local laws, company standards, and international best practices across all facilities.

 

Key Accountabilities & Activities

  • Develop and implement company-wide HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines based on legal requirements and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular health and safety audits at all company sites, including gyms, offices, and public areas, identifying risks and ensuring immediate resolution.
  • Monitor compliance with Civil Defense, Ministry of Labor, GOSI, and other local regulatory bodies, ensuring licenses, reports, and safety documentation are up to date.
  • Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe incidents, producing root cause analysis reports and implementing corrective/preventive measures.
  • Design and deliver HSE training for employees, including fire safety, emergency evacuation, hazard communication, PPE use, and hygiene protocols.
  • Oversee emergency preparedness plans, including evacuation routes, assembly points, drills, and first aid station readiness.
  • Lead safety briefings and toolbox talks with operational teams, especially in high-risk areas (e.g., construction, maintenance zones).
  • Liaise with contractors and external vendors to verify their compliance with site-specific HSE requirements before allowing access to facilities.
  • Keep incident logs, risk registers, and safety inspection checklists updated, and share monthly safety KPIs with senior leadership.
  • Coordinate periodic medical checks, vaccinations, and health campaigns for staff.
  • Suggest safety improvements and recommend new technologies, safety gear, or systems that enhance workplace well-being.
  • Ensure safety training and compliance are embedded in the onboarding process for all new hires.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory inspections and represent the company during official health and safety visits.

 

Experience & qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of HSE experience, preferably in sports, retail, or facilities-based environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent HSE certifications required.
  • Knowledge of KSA safety regulations is mandatory.
